Who's Teaching Whom?

Warm greetings to all!

I have an interesting story to share with you about Rhythm and the natural world around us. I was told by several people at Rites of Spring about some woodpeckers in the Tribes cabin area who were consistently pecking the Afro Haitian Bell pattern on the trees towards the end of the gathering. This bell pattern is the one that we use in the song "Future".

Who came first, them or us? Does it really matter? THe thing that is most amazing to me is that we are sharing Rhythms. We are communicating with a common language. This has been a dream of my life - to dance a shared dance and speak a common language. I am very grateful to see this synchronisity and honor the magic of life!
