Fall 97AS ABOVE, SO BELOWby Miriam Klamkin |

ONGOING: Saturn turned retrograde in August and will stay that way until mid-December. Like Jupiter and the outer planets, Saturn is retrograde for about five months out of every year, so this is no cause for alarm. Retrogrades operate on a subtle level; they seldom have anything to do with the disasters that are attributed to them. Still, during a Saturn retrograde period, anxieties tend to go underground, producing a vague sense of accountability or inadequacy that you can't consciously account for. Don't let this get you down. Instead, take note of your feelings, examine them in a nonjudgemental way. If you are leaving something undone, reach inside yourself for the discipline to do it. If not, let it go. Nobody needs unfounded guilt. OCTOBER: The second week in October, a few psychic red lights will turn green as Jupiter, Neptune, and Uranus shift direction from retrograde to direct. At this time, we ourselves can shift our psychic direction, from "review mode" to "what's next". Just in time for Twilight Covening -- so be sure to pick a Clan that lets you try something new or proceed to the next level. NOVEMBER: Jupiter sextiled Saturn in February when Saturn was still in aspect to Uranus and Pluto. But Jupiter and Saturn both move faster than the outer planets, and although they were in sextile again in July, it wasn't in the exact same spot. With Jupiter retrograde, we had an opportunity over the summer to review and reflect on the transformative experiences of the winter without necessarily reliving the intensity of that time. Jupiter is always looking to give us perspective, to stretch our minds beyond their (perceived) limits. A sextile to Saturn can help us to take the long view of realities that seem grim and depressing and obligations that feel oppressive. We can now execute our responsibilities with grace and good will, moving toward some form of closure with the final (direct) sextile in November. For clues to the specific manifestation of this energy in your life, check the following points in your chart: the house locations of Saturn's positions (4 Aries in February, 20 Aries in July, 14 Aries in November) and Jupiter's (same degrees of Aquarius); natal planets that aspect those points; and the house(s) ruled by Saturn. |
